TRAVEL
Flights will be booked through Houses for Hondo Valle. Once in the D.R., we take a bus across the country to Hondo Valle (on the border of Haiti). Transportation to work sites throughout the trip is provided in pick-up trucks.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Men stay in Our Lady of Fatima rectory and women in the church apartment down the block. Air mattresses are provided. Volunteers are expected to bring their own sheets, pillow, and towel. Showers are taken in a bucket in the bathroom.

FOOD
While in Hondo Valle, volunteers eat the food cooked by women who work in the rectory. This is typical Dominican meals, like rice and beans or chicken and tostones. It is not polite to leave food on your plate, so we recommend only taking a little bit to start until you’ve decided if you like it.
